The Kremer Collection needed a digital platform that could not only showcase their remarkable Dutch and Flemish artworks but also educate users on the historical and cultural connections behind them. We delivered a fully responsive website combined with an innovative "Schools" platform — an interactive map that links artists, schools, and masterpieces within the Collection.
I was responsible for designing the UX/UI for both the website and the Schools platform.
For the Schools platform, I helped shape the structure around a “family tree” concept to clearly show how artists influenced one another over time. Users can explore 17th-century Dutch and Flemish art schools, dive into artist profiles, see the intricate web of artistic influence, and view artworks held in the Collection — all through an intuitive and visually clear interface.
I also designed the adaptive layout for mobile, rethinking how the map and connections appear on smaller screens to ensure a seamless experience across devices.
By presenting complex historical data in an accessible, interactive way rarely found online, the platform offers a valuable and engaging resource for anyone interested in the artistry and legacy of the Dutch Golden Age.
